What is Lactation Counseling?
Hi, I’m Kaitlyn Staples — co-founder of RF Women’s Wellness and a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC). One of the questions I hear often is, “What exactly is lactation counseling?”
Simply put, lactation counseling is all about supporting families through the feeding journey — whether you’re breastfeeding, supplementing, or finding your own unique balance between the two. My goal is to give you evidence-based guidance while also honoring the emotional side of feeding, because this journey isn’t just physical — it’s deeply personal.
Every feeding experience looks different, and every family’s definition of success is unique. My role is to help you feel confident, supported, and empowered in your choices, whatever they may be.
Who I Work With
I work with families in all stages of the feeding journey, including:
Expectant parents preparing for breastfeeding before baby arrives
New mamas navigating those early, chaotic weeks
Families facing supply or latching concerns
Parents returning to work and adjusting to pumping or new routines
Mamas transitioning into tandem nursing or weaning
No matter where you are on your path, I’ll walk alongside you with tools, encouragement, and compassionate care tailored to your goals.
Redefining Success in Motherhood
At the end of the day, my mission is simple — to help you feel successful and confident in your feeding journey. Because success doesn’t look the same for everyone. Whether you nurse exclusively, pump part-time, or combine feeding approaches, your story is valid, beautiful, and worth celebrating.
Thank you for allowing me to be part of this meaningful chapter in your life.
